Modestan on 'Today' show to talk about "Glee Project'
Modesto’s Lindsay Pearce got some major national exposure this morning when she and the rest of the cast members for upcoming reality/competition show “The Glee Project” were interviewed on NBC’s “Today” show by the hosts including Matt Lauer and Anne Curry.
Pearce and Matheus Fernandes were the only two of the 12 given microphones to speak on behalf of the cast during the short outdoor interview that served as a promo spot for NBC sister network Oxygen, on which “The Glee Project” will run beginning Sunday. The show pits the 12 against each other with the winner getting a role on the uberhit Fox TV show “Glee.”
“You’re going see challenges, you’re going to see a lot of different music styles, lot’s of different voices, every single voice here is different,” Pearce told Lauer when he asked what viewers can expect from “The Glee Project. “It’s going to be really great.”
Pearce also gave a little shout out to fellow Modesto native Robert Ulrich, casting director for “Glee” and the one who recommended she try out for “The Glee Project” after he came home last year to help judge the Valley’s Got Talent contest at the Gallo Center. Pearce won that local competition.
“It’s insane,” Pearce, 20, said of the opportunity to be on “The Glee Project.” “Over 40,000 contestants internationally and all throughout America down to a top 12 had to be a rough decision. And everything, all the decisions were made by Robert Ulrich and (“Glee” creator) Ryan Murphy themselves.”
“The Glee Project” debuts on Sunday on the Oxygen channel.
