Child drowns in pool in Modesto
A 6-year-old child drowned Saturday in a residential swimming pool in Modesto, police said.
Emergency units were called to the home in the 3800 block of Carver Road at about 12:20 p.m.
Sgt. Jerry Ramar said the child had gone into the back yard alone. At the time, the pool was in the process of being filled.
The child was taken to a hospital but could not be revived. “They didn’t know how long the child had been in the pool,” Ramar said.
