Update: Coroner IDs man who died from Modesto crash injuries

Roadway fatality

A man was fatally struck by a car in Modesto early Tuesday morning, according to the Modesto Police Department.

Officers responded just before 5 a.m. to the collision near the intersection of Yosemite Boulevard and Santa Barbara Avenue. They found 57-year old Kenneth Herrington lying in the roadway. Despite receiving immediate medical aid, he died at the scene.

The driver of a Toyota Tacoma was traveling east on Yosemite Boulevard, west of Santa Barbara Avenue, according to the preliminary investigation. The Modesto man remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
