Modesto man killed in Turlock crash at Geer Road and Christoffersen Parkway
A Modesto man died Wednesday night after a two-vehicle crash at a Turlock intersection, according to the Turlock Police Department.
Officers responded around 11:30 p.m. to the intersection of Geer Road and East Christoffersen Parkway, where they found two heavily damaged vehicles. Police said Elijah Bland, 22, of Modesto, was pinned inside his car and unresponsive.
Officers from the Cal State University Police Department were first on the scene, followed by Turlock police, fire personnel, and American Medical Response. Emergency crews attempted life-saving measures, including CPR, but Bland died at the scene.
The other driver, a woman whose name has not been released, suffered major injuries and was taken to a local hospital. Police said she is expected to survive.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. No further details were released Thursday.
“Our hearts go out to Elijah’s family and all those involved during this incredibly difficult time,” the Police Department said in a Facebook post.
