Crash leaves three injured and one car on fire in Oakdale

Three people were injured Thursday night in a two-vehicle crash in Oakdale that left one car engulfed in flames, according to the Modesto Fire Department.

Emergency crews responded to the scene at the intersection of Lon Dale Road and Cleveland Avenue at approximately 9 p.m. after receiving reports of a crash involving multiple vehicles, with victims trapped and one vehicle on fire.

Upon arrival, crews found two vehicles about 150 yards apart. One of the vehicles was on fire with a person pinned inside. Firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze and free the trapped individual. Additional emergency resources were called to assist.

The two drivers were airlifted to nearby hospitals, and a third patient was transported by ground ambulance. The extent of their injuries was not known as of Friday morning.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
