When is Joann Fabrics and Crafts closing?
After announcing its Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing in January, Joann Fabrics and Crafts revealed plans to close all of its locations.
Joann currently operates two locations in the Modesto area.
One location is at 200 Standiford Ave. in Modesto. The other is at 2717 Countryside Drive in Turlock.

What’s for sale at Modesto locations?
The Joann restructuring site says the company is focused on minimizing “the negative impact on all Joann team members, vendors, customers and communities.”
As operations wind down, customers can take advantage of special pricing during the going-out-of-business sales and continue shopping at Joann stores, Joann.com or via the Joann mobile app, the site says.
As of Monday, May 5, the stores are offering up to 70% off all remaining in-store merchandise, including:
- Art supplies
- Craft activities
- Door mats
- Fabric (which requires a two-yard minimum cut)
- Fixtures
- Jewelry
- Planters
- Yarn
