What’s all the hoopla about in Modesto? Find out at this hands-on opportunity
A chance for children to get creative is coming up at the free Maker Hoopla in Modesto.
The Stanislaus County Office of Education will hold the event from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 5, at the Petersen Event Center, 720 12th St., Modesto.
The Hoopla is an opportunity for children from preschool through sixth grade to learn through creating. There will be three sessions, from 9 to 10:45 a.m., 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., and 1:15 to 3 p.m.
Open to the public, the Hoopla will provide plenty of opportunities for hands-on learning and creating, according to a press release from SCOE.
There will be 20 exhibits encouraging children to explore, build and use their imaginations. Children and families can enjoy activities including:

▪ Kindness Rocks
▪ Face Stamping
▪ Straw Constructors
▪ Perler Bead Tags
▪ Thumbprint Art
▪ Bead Lacing
▪ Kaleidoscopes
▪ Tissue Paper Flowers
Partnering with SCOE for the Maker Hoopla are the Central Valley Film Project, Carnegie Arts Center, Dragonfly-Art for Life, Great Valley Museum, Modesto Art Academy, Imagination Library and Stanislaus County Public Library.
