Stanislaus County was hiring in March for multiple positions in various departments, including health services, probation and general services.

The county provides competitive and comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision and life insurance plans, for full-time employees.

As part of its Employee Choice Bonus Plan, the county is offering a sign-on bonus worth up to $10,000 over three years or 21 extra days of paid leave time for eligible employees hired full-time on or before June 30.

Accountant III | Permanent, full-time

  • Department: Various
  • Salary: $79,955 to $97,198 per year

Several county departments are looking for accountants.

Accountants are responsible for performing accounting and auditing tasks; managing systems and preparing reports for departments and program managers.

Chief clinic medical director | Permanent, full-time

  • Department: Health Services Agency
  • Salary: $173,160 to $259,729 per year

.Working under the direction of the medical director, the chief clinic medical director plays a key role in ensuring that the organization’s mission, goals and values are supported and implemented by the clinical staff.

The chief clinic medical director ensures that medical practices are in place to support high-quality, cost-effective and efficient clinical services.

Duties include overseeing and supervising all licensed providers and ensuring that the medical program’s clinical goals and measures are met at the clinic.

Client support specialist I/II | Permanent, full-time

  • Department: Public Defender’s Office
  • Salary: $58,697.60 to $82,076 per year

The client support specialist conducts interviews and builds relationships with clients by visiting them in their homes, jails, and other non-office settings.

Depending on the client, the support specialist assists clients with issues such as developing re-entry plans and assisting with program placement for behavioral health or substance use counseling.

The client support specialist also connects clients to supportive services that can help them meet basic needs, such as emergency housing, job training, and public benefits.

Confidential assistant | Permanent, full-time

  • Department: Auditor-Controller’s Office
  • Salary: $48,380 to $72,550 per year

The confidential assistant understands and interprets laws, regulations and memorandums, in addition to understanding policies and procedures pertaining to payroll and benefits.

The confidential assistant also processes employee medical leave calculations; coordinates and implements setup for payroll-related actions; answers phones and takes messages.

The job requires opening and routing mail and compiling and maintaining statistical information.

Deputy probation officer I/II | Permanent, full-time

  • Department: Probation
  • Salary: $65,166 to $89,211 per year

The deputy probation officer reviews law enforcement or court referrals and applies state law and departmental policy to determine appropriate recommendations.

The deputy probation officer interviews offenders, family members, victims, and others critical to case disposition, and provides monitoring and supervision of offenders under court order or departmental disposition.

Other duties including arresting probationers, transporting probationers and conducting drug testing and searches of probationers.

Psychiatrist | Permanent, full-time

  • Department: Behavioral Health and Recovery Services
  • Salary: $241,716 to $293,820 per year

The psychiatrist conducts psychiatric evaluations, makes diagnoses and prescribes treatment and medications.

The psychiatrist is also responsible for holding individual, group and joint family psychotherapy sessions.

Other duties include organizing data concerning the patient’s family, medical history and onset of symptoms; ordering laboratory and other special diagnostic tests and evaluating data.

Director of Aging and Veteran Services | Permanent, full-time

  • Department: Area Agency On Aging and Veterans Services

  • Salary: $123,364 to $185,057

The director of the Area Agency on Aging and Veteran Services provides day-to-day leadership to department employees, aligning with the organization’s vision, mission and values. The director also develops and implements strategic and business plans to achieve the department’s goals and objectives.

The director ensures accountability by assigning and monitoring duties and projects for managers and staff; monitors developments in aging and veterans services; analyzes legislative impacts and recommends policy adjustments to the Board of Supervisors.

The director also advocates for programs and funding that address the needs of older adults, veterans, and their caregivers.

Maintenance engineer I/II | Permanent, full-time

  • Department: General Services Agency
  • Salary: $48,297 to $68,972 per year

Responsibilities include performing and/or assisting in the output of semi-skilled or skilled work in the operation, maintenance, repair and remodeling.

The engineer also helps with minor construction of county buildings, structures, and equipment.

Equipment mechanic | Permanent, full-time

  • Department: General Services Agency
  • Salary: $58,656 to $71,281 per year

The equipment mechanic performs journey-level work in repairing, overhauling and maintaining light to medium-duty vehicles, boat motors and small-engine equipment powered by gasoline and diesel.

The mechanic works under general direction in Fleet Services, a division of the General Services Agency.
