2 injured — 1 critically — on Briggsmore Avenue crash in Modesto. Police investigating
Two people were injured — one of them critically — in a crash Monday night on Briggsmore Avenue in the Claus Road area, according to the Modesto Fire Department.
Shortly before 7:30 p.m., crews were dispatched on a report of a crash with occupant entrapment and fire. They found two patients, one of whom had been ejected from the car during the crash. The other person turned out not to be trapped in the car.
An engine crew extinguished the fire and checked for injuries.
An American Medical Response ambulance crew took one patient to a hospital emergency department for treatment. An EMS crew began advanced life-support care to the critically injured second patient before that person, too, was taken to a hospital.
The crash remains under investigation by the Modesto Police Department.
