Waterford house fire displaces family of four. American Red Cross steps up to help

Modesto Fire Department

A late-night house fire in Waterford displaced a family of four, the Modesto Fire Department reported.

Firefighters were dispatched at about 10:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, to the one-story house on Bauxite Court, according to MFD’s daily incident summary.

It said crews accounted for all of the residents, but the house had too much damage for them to remain. The American Red Cross is providing emergency housing.

The blaze started near a heating unit for the house, the Stanislaus Regional Fire Investigation Unit said. A damage estimate was not available Saturday.

MFD covers Waterford under a contract with the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Protection District.
