Two motorcyclists die in separate collisions in Modesto. Police seek witnesses to both
Two motorcyclists died after separate collisions Thursday in Modesto, the Police Department said.
The Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office identified them as Gaston Salvador, 23, of Modesto and Jason Segale, 52, of Ceres.
Salvador was in a crash reported at about 11:30 a.m. at Sisk Road and Brenner Way. The other happened at about 9 p.m. at Carpenter Road and Elm Avenue.
Police news releases said each man died at a local hospital from his injuries. They provided these further details:
Gaston was riding a 2005 Kawasaki ZX-11 north on Sisk when it collided with a 2000 Toyota Sienna van turning south from westbound Brenner.
The scene is just south of Rumble Road. Witnesses are asked to contact Traffic Safety Officer Kyle Johnson at johnsonk@modestopd.com.
The second crash happened about three miles to the south and nearly 10 hours later. Segale was riding north on Carpenter when he collided with a vehicle turning south from westbound Elm. Details were not available on the make and model of either vehicle.
