One killed in Ceres mobile home fire, Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office investigating
One person was killed in a motor home fire in Ceres on Wednesday morning, according to the Modesto Fire Department.
Firefighters were dispatched at about 9:30 a.m. and reached the 3000 block of Moore Road less than five minutes later.
They found the motor home fully engulfed in flames in the backyard of a residence, with bystanders saying that one person was unaccounted for. After firefighters extinguished the flames, they searched the home and found one adult, who died.
The person’s identity had not been released as of Friday morning. Typically, the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office does not release the identity of someone who has died until next-of-kin can be notified.
The fire’s cause and origin are being investigated by the Stanislaus Regional Fire Investigation Unit and the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department. The Keyes fire department assisted at the scene of the fire.
