Modesto Police Department

An argument between two Modesto neighbors escalated into violence on Tuesday morning, according to a news report and the Modesto Police Department.

Officers responded to a residence on the 1000 block of Elm Avenue at about 11:30 a.m. and found a man with a gunshot wound.

The Modesto Fire Department arrived shortly after MPD. The man who was shot was treated at the scene, taken to a local hospital and is expected to live, according to MPD.

A KCRA 3 report from the scene stated that a witness saw two men “screaming at each other,” before shots rang out.

The shooting suspect, 46-year-old Sean Collins, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He’s being held in lieu of $500,000 bail.
