Pedestrian killed by vehicle on Yosemite Boulevard in Waterford. Deputies investigating

A pedestrian died after being struck by a car in Waterford early Friday morning, according to the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office.

The collision happened on the 12000 block of Yosemite Boulevard at about 3 a.m. Deputies made lifesaving efforts but the pedestrian was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

The identity of the person was not released as of Friday morning, pending notification of next of kin by the Coroner’s Office.

Drugs and alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the collision, and the driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene.

The investigation is being handled by the Sheriff’s Major Accident Investigation Team.
