This Highway 99 off-ramp near Modesto has closed for a week for emergency repairs
An eroding embankment has forced a weeklong closure of the southbound Highway 99 off-ramp at Hatch Road in Ceres.
The ramp is scheduled to reopen at 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 30, the California Department of Transportation said in a news release.
The emergency repairs include backfilling the eroded soil, which is near the top of the slope up to the Hatch bridge across 99. Workers also will build a retaining wall to guard against future damage.
Caltrans said motorists should expect delays of five to 10 minutes through the construction zone. The nearest interchanges are at Crows Landing Road to the north and Whitmore Avenue to the south.
“Schedules are subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, equipment and materials availability, and construction-related issues,” the release said.
