Homicide investigation underway after Modesto Police respond to domestic violence call

Breaking News

The Modesto Police Department is investigating a possible homicide related to a domestic violence call that officers responded to shortly after midnight on Monday, a press release from the department stated.

Officers responded to the 500 block of Kimble Street and found the suspect in the domestic violence call had injuries after a family member intervened.

The suspect was transported to a local hospital, where they died, according to the release.

“This was an isolated incident, and all involved parties have been accounted for,” read MPD’s statement.

The reported domestic violence victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Because of the nature of the incident, police likely will not release many more details while the investigation is ongoing, said MPD’s spokesperson Sharon Bear.

Bear could not confirm if there was an arrest connected to their investigation. Police did not release the name of the person who died. The Modesto Bee does not name domestic violence victims.
