Update: Modesto pickup truck driver that died at scene on Scenic Drive identified
A Modesto man died Saturday night when he lost control of his Ford Ranger pickup truck and crashed into a tree on the 2200 block of Scenic Drive, police report.
The driver, identified Monday morning as 54-year-old Modesto resident Peter Limper , was westbound on Scenic Drive just east of Oakdale Road. The crash occurred at about 7:40 p.m. where there is a curve in the road, Lt. Felton Payne said Sunday morning.
Lifesaving efforts were performed but the man died at the scene.
