A float by Stanislaus Food Products won the top award at the Fourth of July parade in Modesto.
The tomato cannery received the 2024 Chairman’s Trophy with an entry named Seed to Sauce. The business has operated since 1942 on D Street, two blocks from Thursday’s parade start.
The Modesto Kiwanis Club and city government put on the celebration with several sponsors. It was the 151st rendition, dating to 1874, when the city was four years old.
