Hot weather will return this week
Weather forecasters are predicting another heat wave to scorch the Northern San Joaquin Valley this week with high temperatures expected to reach the triple-digit mark by Tuesday.
The high temperature in the Modesto area was forecast to reach 95 degrees today with a low overnight of about 68 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. But that’s just the beginning as the temperature starts to climb.
Heat advisories remain in effect. Authorities ask those who have to be outside to slow down and drink plenty of water.
Forecasters expect Modesto’s high temperature to reach 99 degrees Tuesday, peak at 103 degrees Wednesday and drop to 100 degrees Thursday. There’s not much relief expected overnight with lows hovering around 70 degrees through the end of the week.
Don’t expect any dramatic cooling trends for the weekend. The high temperature for Modesto on Friday and Saturday was predicted to stay above the mid-90s, according to the weather service.
