The man killed when he crashed his SUV on McHenry Avenue on Saturday morning has been identified by the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office as Roseville resident Cody Holm, 36.

The crash happened about 5 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of McHenry and Bowen avenues. The Modesto Police Department investigation found that Holm was traveling south in a Chevrolet Tahoe when for undetermined reasons he veered off the road, sheared off a fire hydrant and crashed into a signal light pole. He was alone in his vehicle, which sustained major front-end damage.

The MPD Traffic Safety Unit investigation continues. No information on possible factors in Holm’s crash and death, such as whether he was seat-belted or may have been speeding, was available Monday.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or Holm’s driving just prior to it is asked to email Officer Bradley Beavers at beaversb@modestopd.com.
