City of Modesto is hiring for hourly and salaried jobs. Here’s how much they pay

Are you looking for job opportunities with the city of Modesto?

The city is looking for workers to fill multiple positions across a variety of departments, including parks and recreation, information and utilities.

According to the city website, employee benefits include life insurance, medical insurance, retirement plans and educational incentive pay.

Sift through some of the open job positions on the city’s job page. As of Wednesday, Feb. 21, these positions are available:

Chief Information Officer | Permanent, full-time

  • Department: Information Technology
  • Salary: $157,227 to $196,539 annually

The chief information officer oversees the Information Technology Department by managing activities and operations, including system development, support, network and geographic information systems. The position is also responsible for offering administrative assistance to the deputy city manager and city manager.

The application closes Feb. 26.

Associate Landscape Architect | Permanent, full-time

  • Department: Parks, Recreation and Neighborhoods
  • Salary: $91,915 to $111,737 annually

The associate landscape architect is responsible for performing technical tasks and managing projects, including Capital Improvement Projects and the Park Partners Program.

While work is often completed in a typical office setting, “some positions may be assigned to remote locations,” according to the city website.

Assistant Landscape Designer | Permanent, full-time

  • Department: Parks, Recreation and Neighborhoods
  • Salary: $36.27 to $48.66 hourly

The assistant landscape designer is responsible for various technical tasks and designing park projects, following environmental regulations and city standards.

While work is often completed in a typical office setting, “some positions may be assigned to remote locations,” according to the city website.

Senior Civil/Traffic Engineer | Permanent, full-time

  • Department: Multiple departments
  • Salary: $117,665 to $143,020 annually

The senior civil/traffic engineer oversees engineering work for public works projects, roads and building developments. This includes managing tasks related to investigation, planning, design, construction, traffic operations, maintenance and operations.

While work is often completed in a typical office setting, “some positions may be assigned to remote locations,” according to the city website.

Police Officer | Permanent, full-time

  • Department: Modesto Police Department
  • Salary: $87,131 to $105,913 annually

The police officer is responsible for enforcing laws, preventing crimes, regulating traffic and investigating incidents. They also support crime prevention programs and handle various administrative tasks for the police department.

Police Officer Trainee | Permanent, full-time

  • Department: Modesto Police Department
  • Salary: $37.95 to $46.13 hourly

The police officer trainee’s responsibility includes enforcing laws, preventing crimes, regulating traffic and investigating incidents. They also support crime prevention programs and handle a variety of administrative tasks for the department.

Senior Utilities Services Worker | Permanent, full-time

  • Department: Utilities

  • Salary: $33 to $41 hourly

The senior utilities services worker leads construction and maintenance projects for the city’s water and wastewater systems. The position is responsible for scheduling tasks, operating equipment and maintaining project files while providing technical support to their supervisor.
