A multiple-vehicle crash Friday afternoon near Pitman High School in Turlock left one man dead and multiple people injured.

The Turlock Fire Department responded to the area of West Christoffersen Parkway and North Kilroy Avenue around 4 p.m., where they reported eight people were injured in a crash involving three vehicles, according to an incident summary from the department.

A 48-year-old man from Turlock was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, the Turlock Police Department said.

The seven others involved were treated with minor injuries, according to the incident summary.

The Turlock Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team responded to the area, according to a Facebook post from the department.

Police said drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor.
