To the delight of spectators packing the sidewalks on a calm, clear Saturday night, the Celebration of Lights Parade made its way along the streets of downtown Modesto to the theme “Toys, Trains and Candy Canes.”
The city announced the winners right after the event concluded:
▪ Jr. High School Band Division – Ustach Middle School
▪ High School Band Division – Beyer High School Band and Color Guard
▪ Non-Profit Division – Modesto junior College
▪ Small Commercial Business Division – Global Rents
▪ Youth Division – Shiloh 4-H
▪ Classic Vehicle Division – Frank Rocha
▪ Large Commercial Business Division – Roberts Auto/My Little Balloon Company Co./Valley Music Institute
▪ Community Division – Luv2Dance
▪ Overall Sweepstakes Winner – Roberts Auto/My Little Balloon Company Co./Valley Music Institute
Immediately following the Celebration of Lights Parade, the Rockin Holiday festivities began on Tenth Street Plaza, including live music, photo opportunities with Rockin Santa and more. Rockin Holiday continues on Thursday-Saturday nights through Dec. 23. Hours are 7-9 p.m.
