Gas prices are decreasing across California, and you may be noticing the changes as you fuel up your car.

As of Tuesday morning, the average price of gasoline in Stanislaus County was $4.60 a gallon, 28 cents less than the state average, according to the American Automobile Association.

Fuel prices may keep falling as the year ends, The Sacramento Bee previously reported.

The average price for fuel in the country is $3.24 per gallon.

Gas prices typically rise in the spring, reaching a peak in the summer when the demand is high and gasoline formulations are more expensive, the U.S. Energy Information Administration wrote on its website.

In California, motorists generally pay less for gas in the winter than in the spring or summer. That’s partly because of the state’s early access to cheaper winter blends.
