Man killed in Modesto fatal vehicle vs. pedestrian identified by county coroner

The man killed in a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision in Modesto on Saturday has been identified as Richard Brown lll, a Modesto resident, according to the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office.

Brown, 37, was struck on McHenry Avenue between Sylvan and Woodrow avenues at about 7:20 p.m. The preliminary investigation found that Modesto woman driving a Ford Fiesta collided with Brown while the vehicle was traveling south on McHenry.

Emergency responders found Brown down in the road with major injuries. He was taken to a medical center, where he died.

No signs of impairment were shown by the woman who stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, the Modesto Police Department reported.
