Man walking on rural road near Modesto struck and killed by motorist
A man walking along a rural two-lane road southwest of Modesto was struck and killed by a car late Monday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Officer Tom Olsen said the man had no identification on him. The CHP’s preliminary investigation states the man was walking within the northbound lane of Carpenter Road north of Grayson Road when he was struck by the front right side of a 2002 BMW traveling at 55 to 60 mph.
Olsen said the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the CHP. The accident occurred about 9:30 p.m. A news release identified the driver as 23-year-old Newman resident Tymon Bolden.
The news releases states the unidentified man died in an ambulance while en route to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto.
