The film “Repairing the World: Stories from The Tree of Life” will be shown free to the public in Modesto.

The documentary is about Pittsburgh’s community response to hate in the aftermath of a 2018 deadly antisemitic attack.

It’s being screened at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15, at Brenden Theatres, 1021 10th St., according to an email from Wendy Byrd, president of the Modesto/Stanislaus NAACP. Doors open at 2 p.m.

“Through the voices of survivors, family members, diverse Pittsburgh residents and leaders, the film shows unity in a moment of crisis, the resilience of a vibrant city, and a community working together ...” according to the film’s website.

A panel discussion will follow the viewing, and will include the producer of the film, Patrice O’Neill.

Pre-registration is required and attendees must present their ticket to enter. The free tickets can be obtained at www.naacpmodestostanislaus.org/event-details/repairing-the-world.
