A Modesto man who died following a crash on Highway 99 last week has been identified as 69-year-old Corando Deleon.

Deleon was driving a Chevrolet pickup northbound near Tuolumne Boulevard on Friday morning when, for unknown reasons, he turned in an unsafe manner to the left, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The front of the Chevy struck the center concrete barrier wall.

Deleon, who was not wearing a seat belt, died at the scene.

It was unclear at the time of the crash whether Deleon died as a result of injuries suffered in the collision or experienced some other fatal medical condition.
