Man killed in Interstate 5 collision identified

An Arizona man who died in a crash on Interstate 5 Tuesday afternoon has been identified by the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office.

Noah Beery, 26 of Oro Valley, AZ, was driving a Subaru SUV south on I-5, between Stuhr and Fink roads, when for unknown reason, he allowed the vehicle to enter the center median.

The Subaru overturned and went into one of the northbound traffic lanes, where it collided with a Peterbilt tractor-trailer, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Beery was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Peterbilt, a 50-year-old Los Banos man, was taken to a Modesto hospital with minor injuries.

The CHP said it did not appear that alcohol or drugs were a contributing factor in the collision.
