Pedestrian critically injured after being hit by SUV in west Modesto collision
A man was critically injured after being hit by an SUV in west Modesto on Monday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Christopher Morgan, 49, was walking west across Ellen Avenue at about 7:15 p.m. when he was hit by an SUV that had just turned right onto the road from Chicago Avenue, according to the CHP.
Morgan suffered major injuries and was taken to Doctors Medical Center. The driver of the SUV, a 38-year-old Modesto man, was not injured.
Drugs and alcohol are not suspected as factors in the collision, according to the CHP.
