Merced man killed in solo vehicle crash on Highway 132 west of Modesto
A Merced man died in a single-vehicle crash on Highway 132 west of Modesto on Sunday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The man was identified by the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office on Monday as 36-year-old Guillermo Villegas Navarro.
Villegas Navarro was driving a Toyota Tacoma east on Highway 132, west of Gates Road, when for unknown reasons he allowed the vehicle to veer onto the right shoulder just before 5 p.m.
The pickup hit two stumps and a tree, causing it to overturn onto its left side, according to the CHP. Villegas Navarro was pronounced dead at the scene.
