Name released of Modesto man who died after being hit by two vehicles on Kiernan Avenue
A Modesto man who died last week after being hit by two vehicles on Kiernan Avenue has been identified by the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office.
Brenden Richardson, 20 of Modesto, died several hours after the collisions on Tuesday, Feb. 7. The California Highway Patrol originally said he was from Ceres but coroner’s officials said he most recently lived in Modesto.
Richardson was walking in the left lane of eastbound Kiernan, east of Carver Road, when he was hit by a GMC Acadia.
Richardson had just got to his feet when he was hit by a second vehicle, a Toyota Corolla, according to the CHP.
The driver of the GMC, a 30-year-old Modesto woman, and the driver of the Toyota, a 17-year-old Modesto boy, both stopped at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement.
Richardson was taken to a hospital, where he died several hours later.
