Love animals? Hate your ex? Here’s one way to show it this Valentine’s Day
A cuddly dog or cat could be a great Valentine’s Day gift, and the Stanislaus Animal Services Agency has you covered with dozens to choose from.
But shelter staff also are looking out for the singles with a score to settle by dumping on the ex who dumped you.
For a $25 donation, the name of your ex-partner will be added to the shelter litter boxes on Valentine’s Day.
What’s more, the shelter plans to post photos on its Facebook page of the felines doing their business. It also will live-stream from the “Cat City room.”
“For a $25 donation, we will ask our resident Poopittens to drop their best #2 on your former #1,” reads a post on the shelter’s Facebook page. “Go to stanislausanimalservices.com, donate $25 or more, and in the notes section put the name to be defiled then sit back and allow our kitties to demonstrate your disgust for you.”
Shelter Executive Director Vaughn R. Maurice said that while the cats will be doing all the dirty work, proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit all shelter animals.
