Stanislaus County launches property damage reporting tool for residents hit by the storm

You can help Stanislaus County and the state coordinate disaster relief efforts by filling out a survey to report property damage caused by flooding, mud and debris flow, according to a news release from the county Sheriff’s Office, Emergency Services Division.

The Storm Damage Survey asks you to mark on a map where the incident took place, to describe it and upload pictures and basic information about yourself. The survey is not a report for insurance claims, according to the release.

“Filling out the survey does not guarantee federal recovery assistance,” according to the release. “Homeowners, renters, and businesses with insurance should still be reporting damages to their insurance provider.”

Evacuation notices due to flooding remained a concern in the county as of Friday afternoon.

On Friday, the Stanislaus Office of Emergency Services launched the online tool for homeowners, business owners and renters to report property damages caused by flooding, mud and debris flow from the recent storms, according to the release. Residents who run a business out of their home can complete the survey twice if the home and business were damaged.

Survey responses help the county “accurately report to State and Federal emergency response agencies. This will better direct recovery efforts toward assisting impacted homeowners, renters, and businesses,” according to the release.
