Woman killed in vehicle rollover in Merced County

A 45-year-old woman died Sunday after her vehicle rolled over on Highway 152, north of Dos Palos, the California Highway Patrol reported.

Sgt. Darren Heredia said the woman, a Hayward resident, was heading west on the highway just before 3 p.m. when her white 1999 Ford Mustang drifted to the shoulder of the roadway.

“For unknown reasons, her vehicle veered that way and overturned,” Heredia said.

She suffered fatal injuries at the scene, authorities said.

The CHP said the crash happened just east of Arroya Avenue in rural Merced County.

Investigators did not release the woman’s name pending notification of her family.

No other injuries were reported and no other vehicles were involved, the CHP said.

The cause of the collision remained under investigation Sunday night.
