Woman dies after being hit by car on Crows Landing Road in Modesto

A pedestrian police believe ran out in the roadway died after being hit by a vehicle early Sunday on Crows Landing Road.

The woman, whose name and age were not available, was hit at 5:30 a.m. at Crows Landing and Imperial Avenue in south Modesto, said Modesto Police Sgt. Garret Crawford.

It appeared the woman ran into the traffic lanes and the driver of the vehicle was not cited, Crawford said.

Police are asking anyone who has information about the accident to call Officer Boyle at 209-572-9500 or or call Crime Stoppers at 209-521-4636. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and are eligible for a cash reward. Tipsters can text information to Crime Stoppers at 274637; type “TIP704” along with the message.
