Pedestrian fatally struck by big rig identified as Modesto woman

A woman who was hit by a big rig on Keyes Road south of Modesto last week has been identified as a 26-year-old Modesto resident.

Teyarra Teall was in the westbound lane of Keyes, just east of Crows Landing Road, at about 7 p.m. Thursday when the collision occurred, according to the California Highway Patrol.

“Due to the dark conditions and the reasonable expectation a pedestrian would not be in the roadway, the front of the Freightliner struck the pedestrian, causing fatal injuries,” a press release from the CHP reads.

Teall died at the scene.

The big rig driver, a Stockton man, stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
