Update: Investigators are trying to identify gunman in shooting outside a Modesto motel
Investigators are trying to identify a male suspect responsible for a shooting Friday outside the El Capitan Motel in Modesto.
At 7:45 p.m., fire and police units went to the 1100 block of Needham Street, finding one person with multiple gunshot wounds in the parking lot of the motel.
The gunshot victim was taken by ambulance to Doctors Medical Center and is expected to survive, authorities said.
Modesto police Sgt. Jamie Demings said the shooting occurred during an argument between two males.
One male, who was armed, shot the other one and then left the scene.
Demings said investigators are trying to develop information about the suspect.
