Family Fun Nights return to south Modesto

Family Fun Nights will return to south Modesto on Friday for the ninth year of summer activities designed to help form positive relationships between families, government agencies and community groups.

The free events are open to the public and held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. each Friday for the next three weeks at the Apostolic Jubilee Center, 821 Lassen Ave.

The events are organized in a collaborative effort with Modesto City Schools and several agencies and community groups. The goal for organizers is to provide educational, health and community support services to families.

There will be entertainment, food, games and raffles for all those in attendance. The schedule:

▪ Friday, Community Safety: Modesto Police Chief Galen Carroll and other law enforcement officials will be available to speak with families. There also will be a police K-9 unit demonstration and other law enforcement support services.

▪ July 17, Community’s Strengths: More than 30 local community organizations will provide information about resources and services.

▪ July 24, Kids Day and Health Services: Fun activities and games will be offered for children. There also will be free haircuts. The Enochs High School Biotech Club will provide fun science activities.
