Man suffers serious head injuries as pickup crashes along Highway 132
A man suffered major injuries in a rollover crash on Highway 132 west of Modesto on Saturday.
Just after 10 a.m., the driver of a Nissan pickup was east of River Road, traveling east, when for unknown reasons he drifted onto the south dirt shoulder, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Tom Olsen.
The driver overcorrected and the Nissan crossed both lanes of traffic, then traveled off the north side of the road, Olsen said. It overturned down an embankment and landed on its roof 40 feet from the roadway.
The driver, the only person in the vehicle, suffered major head injuries. He was taken by medical helicopter to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto. His condition was not known Saturday afternoon.
