Body washes up from San Joaquin River near Manteca. Sheriff’s deputies investigating

The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office reported it is investigating after a body was found Wednesday morning “washed ashore” near a Manteca campground.

A man who was fishing on the San Joaquin River near Turtle Beach Campground called the Sheriff’s Office just before noon and reported finding the body. Detectives were on scene investigating as of Wednesday evening.

More information is expected to be released as it becomes available, but the office did not say anything else in its Facebook post about the situation.
