The Hughson motorcyclist who died in a crash on Highway 99 in Modesto on Tuesday morning has been identified by the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office.

Paul O’Hara, 39, was riding a motorcycle in the center lane of northbound Highway 99, near Pelandale Avenue, when he collided with a car that was in the fast lane.

O’Hara was ejected from the motorcycle and landed in the slow lane, where he was hit by a big rig. He died at the scene.

The California Highway Patrol is still investigating why the motorcycle and car collided and who is at fault.

The CHP originally said O’Hara was 29 years old, but a Coroner’s Office official on Wednesday said he was 39.
