A rider was airlifted to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto after crashing his Harley-Davidson motorcycle in Waterford on Thursday afternoon, according to Waterford Police Services.

The crash happened about 2:30 p.m. on the 14100 block of Yosemite Boulevard, according to Chief Mike Parker. It occurred just across the road from Community Bible Church.

There was one known witness to the crash, who told officers the rider — police said he appears to be in his 60s — went off the road and into a fence.

In a Facebook post just before 3 p.m., Waterford Police Services asked motorists to avoid the area.

The Sheriff’s Department’s major-accident investigation team is gathering evidence.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call Deputy Matthew Orr at 209-869-7162 or email morr@stansheriff.com
