PG&E worker finds human remains. Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office investigating

The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a death after human remains were found in a forested ravine near Twain Harte on Monday.

A PG&E worker clearing brush near South Fork Road by the old Sierra Pines Golf Course found the “heavily decomposed” remains around 1:30 p.m., said Deputy Ashley Boujikian, a spokeswoman for the Sheriff’s Office.

She said due to the condition of the remains, the person has not been identified and even the gender is unknown.

A cause of death is pending an autopsy but Boujikian said investigators do “not suspect foul play at this point.”

Authorities ask anyone who has information related to this case to call Detective John Hammell at 209-694-2903.
