Dense fog advisory to last in Modesto area through Saturday morning

weather update

A dense fog advisory will be in effect through 11 a.m. on Saturday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

Stanislaus County and nearby areas were shrouded in fog on Friday night and through the early morning.

There were three single-vehicle, non-fatal wrecks reported early Saturday by the California Highway Patrol. Of the three – one west of Riverbank and the other two either on or near Highway 108 in Tuolumne County – fog slightly delayed emergency crews.

The advisory signals that visibility will be one-quarter-of-a-mile or less and that there could be sudden changes in visibility.

The conditions could cause minor traffic delays and the CHP is advising everyone to drive with caution.

After clearing, temperatures in Modesto are expected to reach a high of 64 degrees on Saturday.

Over the next 10 days, there is no rain in the forecast and a high of 69 degrees is predicted for Monday.
