After postponing its spring date due to the coronavirus pandemic, Love Modesto will take place on Saturday, Oct. 3.

According to an email from Jeff Pishney, Love Modesto executive director, organizers have used the time to “make important needed adjustments to ensure the safety of everyone involved.”

The annual citywide volunteer day plans to have more than 3,000 volunteers working on 50 projects, according to Pishney. This is Modesto’s 12th year holding the event.

There will be a virtual rally at 8 a.m., with projects beginning at 9 a.m.

There are a handful of projects still in need of sign ups, according to Pishney. They are:

Beautify Lincoln Avenue; beautify Modesto Park; Fairview Elementarty School; Helen White Memorial Trail; Hospice Patient Meal Delivery; Howard Prep; Interfaith Ministries; Love Our Neighbors — Neighborhood Champion; Martone Elementary School; Morse Road Clean Up; Standiford Park Cleanup.
