Wing connoisseurs wait in line for 19 hours at new Turlock restaurant
Fans of Buffalo Wild Wings did more than stand in line for the opening of the chain’s new restaurant in Turlock – they camped in it.
The grounds of the new restaurant at Monte Vista Crossings shopping center looked like a campground Monday morning, with people in tents and sleeping bags.
The first 100 people in line for Monday morning’s 10 a.m. opening won “free wings for a year.” That translates to a coupon book with 52 vouchers, each good for a snack-size order of wings, one per week.
The first patron in line was Carlos Iniguez, 17, a senior at Turlock High School. He showed up at 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
He was first by about five minutes, he said.
And his reason for waiting more than 19 hours in front of the restaurant?
“I’m here for the wings,” Iniguez said.
