Stanislaus County coronavirus deaths rise by three, positive cases hit 2,000

Coronavirus deaths in Stanislaus County jumped to 41 and the number of people testing positive reached 2,000, health officials reported.

New numbers were released late Saturday afternoon, and the number of deaths tied to the disease grew from 38 the previous day, according to the Stanislaus County Health Services Agency website.

The county also added 60 more positive cases out of 445 tests, bringing the day’s infection rate to 13.48%. The 14-day rolling total is 11.0%, up from 10.26 the day before.

Vintage Faire Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Modesto reported Saturday one additional death for a total of four. Also, in an update posted on Thursday evening, El Rio Memory Care Center, also in Modesto, reported five total deaths.

Of the positive tests, Modesto has a county high of 674, followed by Turlock at 283.

The overall rate of positive tests stood at 7.2%.
