Newman baby with special birth date is delivered at Doctors Medical Center
With a due date of Feb. 13, Newman resident Jocelyne Tinoco thought she might give birth on Valentines Day, but her baby held out for an even more memorable date.
Baby Alyssa Victoria Ramirez was born on 2-20-2020 at 2:20 p.m. To top it off, she measured in at 20 inches long.
A week overdue, Tinoco went to the doctor on the morning of Feb. 20 for a checkup. Her doctor told her she had high blood pressure and recommended a cesarean section.
As for the timing, Tinoco said, “It just happened that way.” She was taken into the operating room at Doctors Medical Center at 1:30 p.m. and delivered 50 minutes later.
“It is pretty cool,” Tinoco said. “That’s a lot of twos, and then to be 20 inches long, what are the odds? That is just crazy.”
Alyssa is the second child for her and husband Angel Ramirez. They have a 5-year-old daughter named Azalea, who Tinoco said is enjoying being a big sister and mom’s helper.
