A 50-year-old Ceres man died in a head-on collision on a country road between Ceres and Keyes Sunday morning.

Greg Mcabee was driving a Honda south on Faith Home Road, south of Service Road, at about 7:20 a.m., when for unknown reasons he veered into the northbound lane, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Roxanne Rosas, 30, of Keyes, who was driving north in a Chevrolet, swerved right in an effort to avoid the Honda, but the front left sides of the vehicles collided, CHP said.

Mcabee was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to the CHP. Rosas suffered minor injuries.

It remains under investigation whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision.
